Energize Your Home with Lucky Bamboo!
A wonderful plant to add to your home environment - especially at the New Year - is Lucky Bamboo. A Lucky Bamboo arrangement is often used as a Feng Shui enhancement and is generally made up of an odd number of stalks. In the Chinese culture, 3 stalks represent Health, Wealth, and Happiness while 5 stalks represent different aspects of Wealth. Adding this elegant plant to your home or office is a great way to represent good intentions that you want to set for the New Year!
Lucky Bamboo is extremely easy to care for!
Botanically known as Dracaena sanderana, Lucky Bamboo grows in water like fresh flowers. Place it in shallow water (about 2″) in a vase - for best results, change the water monthly. It is not necessary to feed Lucky Bamboo. If the roots get too long, simply cut them back to about ½”.
Lucky Bamboo adapts to a new environment easily. It prefers low, indirect light, and temperatures ranging from 60 - 90 degrees F. Because it is such a durable species, Lucky Bamboo can be easily bought over the Internet and shipped to your home.
Will Lucky Bamboo grow taller?
No - all the stalks receive special treatment when they reach the desired shape and length. The leaves, however, will continue growing. These plants can often thrive for 8-12 months or even longer.
Perfect gift!
As an Asian symbol of Happiness, Wealth, and Longevity, Lucky Bamboo makes a perfect gift for weddings, birthdays, house-warmings, and other special occasions. Lucky Bamboo is a unique, beautiful, and easy-to-care-for plant - and it is a fun gift to give as well as receive. I have given desk and table-top sized arrangements to my friends and real estate clients - for birthdays, purchase of a new home, thank you gifts - as well as for the Holidays and New Years.
Enjoy your Lucky Bamboo - and best wishes for a Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous New Year and Decade!
