Triad companies, Trend Funnel and Source Horizon, both former participants in PTEN’s business plan competition, have been invited to present at CED’s Opportunity 07 Conference. Both Greensboro-based companies are among 10 companies who were selected to present their business plan to a group of investors from throughout the Southeast.

Triad Companies to Present at Opportunity 07
Triad companies, Trend Funnel and Source Horizon, both former participants in PTEN’s business plan competition, have been invited to present at CED’s Opportunity 07 Conference. Both Greensboro-based companies are among 10 companies who were selected to present their business plan to a group of investors from throughout the Southeast.
Source Horizon is a B2B development company that has produced and launched the SourceAuthority.com marketplace to offer a full range of procurement services through which manufacturers can acquire materials more efficiently. SourceAuthority.com supports purchasing goals by providing audited information on regional and national suppliers through its proprietary technology. This creates highly competitive bidding environments while simultaneously augmenting buyer resources with project management and engineering support services. In addition to being a past winner of PTEN’s business plan competition, Source Horizon has participated in several Capital Connects! events and has received funding from the Triad’s Inception Micro Angel Fund. Source Horizon is also a resident of the Nussbaum Center for Entrepreneurship.
Trend Funnel is an online shopping tool that makes shopping for home furnishing and decor more efficient by allowing users to shop by trend. Within each trend category products range from flooring and paint to furniture and accessories, providing shoppers with the type of consolidation offered by an interior design professional. Trend Funnel co-founders, Mary Elizabeth Beal and Thera Storm, credit PTEN with entrepreneurial coaching that has helped clarify their target market and distribution process and prepare for opportunities like the CED conference. “Helping us refine our pitch and guiding us through the business plan writing process, has literally accelerated our company’s growth,” said Storm.
Other presenting companies at Opportunity 07 include: A-B Sea Research, Inc., Beecoz, BioMedomics, Magnus Health Portal, Nanovector, PrepChamps, Transfusion &Transplantation Technologies and Valencell, Inc. In addition to the presenting companies, Opportunity 07 will feature keynote speakers Richard Johnson, founder of HotJobs.com, and Richard Randall, president and CEO of TranS1, Inc. Conference attendees will also be able to participate in a half-day Innovators Workshop, entrepreneur-specific panel sessions, and one-on-one consulting from industry experts.
