Yesterday was my son’s birthday and it was so fun to watch his eyes light up as we gave him a gift. He wasn’t expecting it because we had celebrated the week before and allowed him to pick out a present from a souvenir shop. Although he was grateful for what we had done, there was something really special about getting a gift to unwrap. He tore into that package with such joy and excitement.

I started thinking about “gifts” in a different way. I thought about all the gifts we receive each day and how sometimes they may get overlooked. Whether it’s our home, our financial situation, an opportunity to help someone or a dirty bathroom to clean; everything we have can be seen as a gift. What if we approached all our gifts with joy and excitement?

“Life is full of gifts, unwrap them with joy.”
